Success Story: Home Care Monitoring- Polar

Polar sought to improve the accuracy and reliability of heart rate and blood oxygenation monitoring devices for home care patients. The primary challenge was enhancing the optical signal quality to ensure consistent and accurate readings in non-clinical environments. This required a redesign of the sensor head to optimize light transmission and signal detection under varying conditions.

MedPhab supported the project by providing expertise in sensor head design and rapid prototyping. Through close collaboration, a novel sensor design was developed that significantly improved optical signal quality. The final prototype met the FDA’s stringent technical performance requirements, paving the way for regulatory approval and large-scale deployment in home care settings. This advancement empowers patients with more reliable remote monitoring, supporting better chronic disease management and early intervention.
